Who We Are And What We Do

The Wisconsin Waterfowl Association, a non-profit conservation organization, was formed in 1983 by a group of sportsmen and women who wanted to preserve and restore and state's waterfowl habitat and hunting traditions. They were concerned with dwindling waterfowl numbers and the loss of wetland habitat. They set out to make a difference--raising money and using it to support worthwhile wetland habitat projects.

The Southern Lakes chapter was founded in 2005. Our first year was a great success! In the up coming years we intend to grow and become a major contributor and supporter to goals of WWA. With the help or our sponsors our offering at the annual banquet will be some of the best in the state. Check out our items so far in this year’s banquet. We would like to thank last year’s sponsors and the sponsors who are already on board to make this year even better than last.

We are proud of the fact that every dollar WWA raises stays in the state of Wisconsin!

We strongly support WWA's on-staff experts that work in partnership with over 14 other conservation groups and four government agencies locating, designing, constructing and funding projects throughout Wisconsin. Public land, private land, large or small, WWA seeks out and completes many habitat projects each year.
We are proud of our hunting roots and are not shy about saying so. Whether we are speaking to a group of kids at a hunters safety class, or our state legislature, we actively support our hunting traditions. We take every opportunity to remind those who may have forgotten how much hunters and anglers have given to protect and support our natural resources.
WWA members are as diverse as Wisconsin itself. Men and women, blue collar and white, young and not so young, all together, working hard toward a collective goal. We are proud to have mud on our boots.

Please check out the Wisconsin Waterfowl Association, home page for more details as to what they are all about.
